Meet
One of Our Team
Alan Artress, Customer
Service Director

Many of
you have met Alan and/or spoken with him on the
phone. If so, you understand why we are so
proud to have him on the KeyTrain team! Alan
is truly a team player with a wealth of
experience with WorkKeys and KeyTrain - and he goes
out of his way to share his knowledge with clients.
Alan was
one of the first Job Profilers trained by ACT in the
early 90’s and has performed over 300 job profiles
in industry and administered over 30,000 WorkKeys
assessments throughout his career.
“I have always considered myself a
teacher and counselor." Alan comments, "Working for KeyTrain has
allowed me to grow personally and professionally in
showing how to use educational software that not
only gives students/clients foundational skills
but empowers them to
succeed in learning.”
Prior to
joining KeyTrain, Artress initiated and managed the WorkKeys program, through the Corporate Human
Resources department, of The Dixie Group. The Dixie
Group is a leading carpet manufacturer located in
Georgia and used the WorkKeys system for hiring
decisions, in-house job bidding procedures, and
upgrading of employee skills in 17 locations around
the country.
Alan
also started and managed one of the first WorkKeys
Service Centers for Chattanooga State Technical
Community College for 9
years. The center implemented WorkKeys in such
companies as Dupont, McKee Foods, Olin Chemical,
Bandag Tires, Mueller Company, Komatsu, and Lodge
Foundry Manufacturing.
Currently, Alan is on the Arkansas Career Readiness
Certificate steering committee and trains hundreds
of educators and counselors all over the country in
the implementation of KeyTrain.
He also
leads KeyTrain efforts in Indiana, Alaska and
California. Alan's unique
combination of experience in both education and
business makes him a valuable asset to KeyTrain and
our clients.
